The Gato Class Submarine was the first mass-produced Submarine created for the United States Navy. 77 of the craft were completed, with only 20 lost to enemy fire or other circumstances. Now, the class can fly the universe of Starmade.
This model of the Gato class is not yet complete. The external hull is as accurate as possible in the game, with the interior unfinished. Later, other systems will be added to make the ship as accurate as possible to her wartime configurations.
The model is slightly larger than twice the size of the actual craft. This is due to restrictions on length of blocks and the constraints on what can be done in a block universe. The current ratio is a 2.15:1 Model/Actual length. Other dimensions fluctuate to get the best “Feel” for the craft possible in game while still obtaining the external appearance.

Holes are in the hull for torpedo weapons, but at current the only armament is turret-based deck guns.
