If you want light wedgies you can use crystals, which do come in wedges, but then you cannot turn them on and off. The ion beams look a little different because i am using BearishMushroom's utterly delightful Pewier Pews mod, which mans up some of the weapon effects.

Haha! yes indeed, that was the inspiration I tried to go for in this instance, though it did not begin that way, as it began to resemble a ... cruiser of the faction whose name I cannot remember... I decided to use some elements from it.
