Description/RP:
The mitigated results of the 130A-Proxima led to the conception of a brand new light fighter: the 130Y-Acrux. The last product of the Orwell-Xavier-Simmons Corporation boasts a completely redesigned weaponry composed of a hull-piercer antimatter cannon (whose damage output over time is 2 to 3 times greater than the Proxima's cannon), 2 shield-disrupting smart missiles and a battery of 48 heatseeker missiles to gain the upper hand against another squadron of fighters or to overwhelm the AMS of corvettes and small frigates. An overdrive system has also been added to the Acrux, which, coupled with the high yield of its special impulsive drive, allows it to reach a whooping speed of 337.5m/s.
These modifications, however, have been made at the expense of the ship's armour, and the Acrux can only count on its greater speed and the slightly increased maximal output of its shield generators to survive the battle.
Numerous 130Y-Acrux fighters have been sold across the Milky Way, Andromeda, and a couple other galaxies. It isn't uncommon to encounter these ships escorting frigates or in assault squadrons. High cost and the necessity of frequent maintainances however make the Acrux poorly suited to be the bulk of a faction's fighter fleet. The Acrux is netherless an overall well-appreciated fighter, in particular among hot-headed pilots.
