By now I'm sure you've seen me poke my head around the Discussion and Suggestions threads. I get a big type-happy when I try to join myself into a forum community. I wanted to make up a new thread for my ship design and maybe get some feedback/input/advice with it as I go.

Name: The Walrus/Cyclops (On first design, the raised bridge and all-grey hull made it look like a Walrus. I originally called it Cyclops.
Hull Design: Cylindrical, raised bridge, horizontally extending and vertically shrinking thrusters, rear hangar bay
Turret Design: Cylindrical modules, interchangeable based on need. 4x Primary Module Slots, 1x Secondary (Currently only planning on a flak turret for anti-missile purposes), additional non-modular turrets are being planned.

    Length: About 300 (see below)
    Width: 53
    Height: 43

    Power: Cap/Recharge 2.333m / 250.7k-s
    Shields: Cap/Recharge 658.8k / 17.4k-s
    Armor: 2.4m total

    --------------------

    Turret Module Stats
    Power: Cap/Recharge 50k / 27k-s
    Shields: Cap/Recharge 80k / 2.9k-s
    Armor: 314k Total
    (x4 modules per ship)

When I outfit my ship I can simply undock a module, put it in storage, enter another, and dock to install. If I'd rather use slow-fire long-range sniper cannons as opposed to close-range rapid-fire beams, it would take less than 4 minutes to swap all 4 primary modules (I have 1 secondary defense Flak module installed, which is far smaller than its larger siblings)

The hulls are cylindrical, as best as I can manage without being anal in detail. In default position, the guns swivel up/down, whilst the hull rotates left/right. If I'm broadsiding a station or another ship, the modules rotate 90 degrees and the turrets swivel around. As much as I wish I could show a video, fraps decided to play a joke on me and only recorded the beginning and end of the fight. It'll be made and uploaded soon, though.

Docking: Also in production, I'm hoping to outfit the hangar section to hold 2-3 medium sized ships/1 large ship, 4+ smaller ships, or a mix thereof. The hangar is located at the rear-most section of the ship and will be connected to the bridge via a railed tram, stretching the length of the entire vessel

It's a small ship, agile. Incomplete. Doesn't have the highest shielding, or the highest firepower output. But, for the moment, it's what I'm cruising in on my lonely single player server until I get everything figured out and can move to multiplayer.

So, some issues I've been noticing.
Right now I've got these weird blocks hovering far behind my ship, white lights and grey hull. I can't delete them from the ship core, by hand in space, or shoot them from another ship. They don't register any impact, but I can't fly through them (I bump against them as if they're really there). I'm sure they're leftover from using a symmetry axis and I didn't notice them until I'd reset the axis and can't find the center again.

    Any advice?
