That spotted black block that looks like stars, what is that?

Looks like the blank side of activation gate modules with display block O's written over them to me.

The block itself looks like one of the 3 types of gate blocks. The stars are probably display module magic.

I can confirm that those are in fact the backs of activation gates with floating display writing hovering over them. I also put a layer of black crystal over it, not sure if it helped or not. For future ships, I may or may not use black hull instead of activation gates, but I think it turned out well here.

Those are some good ones, I'll have to try and work those in next time.
