What does a red blinking Power bar mean?

I am building a rather big ship with a huge antimatter cannon but always when i want to fire it the power bar just blinks read. Does that mean i dont have enough power? I thought i would have enough power as i have a shitton of power blocks in the ship. And is there a way to find out how much power i need to make something work?

Have you tried putting any power tanks? If each shot would take over 20k (the core total) power, it wouldn\'t fire even with unlimited amount of regen.

It takes 10 power per block per shot. Sounds like you have over 2000 blocks and no power tanks
