Starmade starter does not get installed

I really need to know how to get it to install, i downloaded the windows version, and im on windows 8, and even if i just open it, it goes to the loading screen, and when at 100%, it closes itself out!

That you didn't get a desktop-link is normal.
In most cases 100% crash can be fixed by installing the JDK instead of the JRE.

Exactly where you downloaded it to. If you didn't change that it should be the "Downloads" folder in your personal files.
