    This is a direct alternative to: https://starmadedock.net/threads/a-potential-minimal-grind-fuel-mechanic.28899/ You can still implement his ideas on nebulae and re-use his fuel-idea, but requiring fuel for absolutely everything is crap.

    I would make small stick ships flying around to collect free fuel and re-use that on big ships.
    That shows how crap that idea is. Requiring a billion of small ships to fuel one big if a big faction blocks your neighbour nebulae. One faction per galaxy to get your own nebula isn't helping the game.
    No offense - everyone makes faults from time to time.


    Ok, you got your infinity generators, but not for everywhere and all purposes.
    Thats what we discuss, right?

    Divine Creator (in SM-games case through Schema) has given you a tool to move with NO pollution.
    He doesn'T or didn'T want conflict. But it developed out of neccessarity.
    To remember us, that we shall not kill each other but thrive together, weapons suffer the most from having no fuel or "Power".

    My proposal:
    1. Weapons: 10% damage if generators are in passive-mode or out of fuel.
    2. Shields: 20% refill rate. 50% capacity can be sustained. (without fuel, it's *more creative mode*)
    3. Thrust: 40-80% max speed and thrust - make everything more chilling and less stressing.
    4. to be continued if neccessary.
    Goals are archived:
    1. A 2x as big ship will still compete to a powered-state 1x scaled ship
      - a little less damage, but still dangerous because shields suffer a bit less.
    2. Your Escape shuttle with some fuel onboard can outrun most attackers.
      - if attackers only carry fuel for occassionally engaging fight with similar forces, you can exhaust their fuel reservoir by using your fuel very efficiently to outrun big ships with a small vessel, making them use way more fuel than you on reactors which also power big weapons and shields.

    Most likely, you have your mobile capital ship and small mission-ships which have enough fuel being produced by that capital ship.

    But that capital ship won't produce enough fuel for itself.
    It needs to run in power-saving mode quite some time.


    There would be 2 types of raw fuel:
    1. One is consumed and provide a quick burst of energy, maybe 10 seconds.
      If you have more, you can sustain that some time.

    2. Compressed Fuel does same, but requires much fewer inventory volume and mass.
      It is used as second priority and you get 1 of these for 3 of prior in a Large Hadron Collider or Factory.
      Before this is used, you need to confirm somehow (setting, checkbox appearing for pilot, etc)

    You can archive that Fuel -can be called "Fower", by anything that makes you deserve Power over life and death or within a society.


    Perhaps you can collect it from nebulae, or get "spiritual power from dead bodies" which can be converted into Fower or get it as mission reward, passively produced by idle ships near suns, ...

    It should just be difficult to power a death-star with it. Archiveable to get your own mobile home base with factory running and easy to fly around some small shuttle or elite-gunship powered up.
