    This would be a change to weapon mechanics, possibly more (salvagers etc.), where the DPS per block is increased to let's say 30. Then the total damage is multiplied times the percentage of the ship that is that weapon battery. So a ship with a 1000 DPs array that is 10% of the ship will do 100 DPS and that same weapon will do 500 DPS on a ship that is 50% that weapon. Maybe make hull, armor, and decoration not count towards the percentage.

    It would functionally be a buff to turrets and drones, maybe too much of a buff. A possible balance lever could be changing the DPS base of CPU controlled ships compared to human piloted ships.

    Another, likely negative consequence would be alpha damage for days on certain weapons (missile/beam or anything/pulse). Could make the change affect reload speed instead of damage for those weapons, making the same DPS, but not increasing alpha damage in too absurd a way.
