    I wouldn't call holding 'A' all the time (which would be godmode for smaller ships against AMCs) "well maneuvering".
    Well, if you were, say, flying past the mid section of a ship, you'd have turrets aimed at you from multiple sides, plus the possibility of other factors like being tailed by enemy fighters or being attacked from even more directions by other ships' turrets.

    Aren't demigods well known for thinking themselves to be invincible and then dying horribly?

    AMCs are still faster than a ship, the effects of it really wouldn't be noticeable except at further ranges. Anyway, if your AMC turrets aren't able to hit fighters, then maybe you should swap out some AMCs for some tracking missiles or beams.
