Alright, I've tried every solution I can find on this issue, both inside and outside of starmade forums.
I have disabled my firewall, disabled all antivirus programs, allowed both java.exe and javaw.exe through my firewall, set my starmade's memory allocation to 20,000, ran ping tests (which come up fine(20-40ms). shut down all background programs except starmade, and a few other minor tweaks.
I have Windows 7, and get roughly 20-45mbps internet.
I keep getting both the socket exception error and EOFException error even seconds after I join a server (before the game even loads up!), and the times it happens in the game, it gives me the server under high load (5sec+) before crashing to desktop with either Socket exception or EOFException error.
