Can any one explain to me why any time i import obj or anything other then a binvox file i get a java error msg?

I find that trying to get the obj import to work is a lost cause, and always ends up creating a dirty ship anyway. This guide is much better for importing stuff into SM from 3d models, however, it has some limitations. For anything outside the limits in that guide, I'd recommend binvox.
