Shops should be factioned so your turrets don't attack them if another player attacks you.

On a space station this means your turrets never stop attacking until a server restart.

This is a poor solution to an easy-to-solve problem. Instead of factioning shops, the devs could simply revamp the AI, which they already plan on doing.

This is not a good solution to the turret problem, as it means neutral ships will still shoot the stations, and faction ships will attack the shops of another faction.

If shops were to be factioned (I\'m not sure what the mechanic would be for getting them to join your faction) it could be pretty cool though. Perhaps the owning faction gets better rates and some customizability to the stock?

This would mean if a faction has all blue ships, the shops they \"own\" could provide better deals on blue blocks to them, and stock more of them at the expense of other hull blocks.

This could make factions fight over valuable trade sectors, which could be a plus.

Not sure what mechanic could be used for factioning shops. The faction with the largest combined ship mass in the system gets it? Would the home planet contribute to the mass (assuming there\'s a shop in the faction home base sector) Maybe the stations could be bought? Would the transfer be instant or take some time, giving the other faction time to respond?
