I've witnessed this a few times when seeing larger ships nearing eachother, but now I've also managed to make it happen with smaller craft that are ~30-40 blocks.
When making a ship, and making a lot of (small or large) changes to it, chances are that the ship is going to act weird while flying, as if it is colliding with something, but there is no trace of the collision source.
I'm testing this inside of a glass box (a station), and it keeps showing the same behavior after building a ship for a while and flying around with it: it becomes uncontrollable due to all the screen shaking.
Not sure if this is caused by the actual building process, or by previous collisions with other objects, but I'm pretty sure it is the same thing as when big ships randomly collide while not even touching eachother (think of ~50 blocks distance).
