Ship and Hand Held radar difference, and some more on radar...

    I think that there should be a difference between your ship's radar (how much you can see when you are in the core) and your own radar capabilities when you are not in a ship's core.

    So you should have some sort of hand held radar device that you can use to scan the surrounding area (a bit a like the radar like hand held scanning device in the film Alien). This doesn't necessarily mean that you have to switch between your gun and your hand held radar device, so you could just go into the Navigation menu as normal (but anyone looking at you would see you take out the special device), but maybe it would have a slightly different design and it would definitely have a much shorter range.

    There should also be some sort of block which you cannot see with radar what is behind it. So you could have certain doors and walls which you could not know what is behind them.

    With all of this it could give my station a more of an "Alien Isolation" feel (especially with those spider things on decaying stations)! :D
