semi blocks

1: half blocks. A block cut in half. half wedges and corners wouldn't be too bad either. these would be both for metal and terrain

2: (very important) plating. This would be around 1/16th of the hieght (like minecraft's snow). a pannel covering for each touching surface,(it might make an L shape if you put it on a floor and wall, or a | | shape if put between two blocks. This'd be neccessary for armouring small fighters that shouldn't have

3: pannels- 1/16th blocks and is affected only by manual rotation. good for wings.

4: fences, like minecraft. This would be realy good for lighter weapons.

I think the 2nd point about armour plating would be a very good innovation. It would allow smaller ships to have some defense without looking clunky and blocky!
