Selling a recipe yields lots of blocks

This is probably leftover from the previous incarnation of the recipe/crafting system and as such may already be known, but just in case:

At any shop if you buy a recipe for 10,000 credits then go back to the blocks menu and drag the recipe from your hotbar to the sell button it will give you roughly 2500 blocks of whatever the recipe originally called for. I noticed this specifically on the recipe for Refine Octogen (haven't tried others yet).

Anyway, after you have your 2500 blocks of say Octogen Lvl2, you can then sell them for massive profit without having done any work for it.

Like I said, this is probably just leftover from the previous system but I thought I would point it out.

    Thanks!

    About this issue:

Recipes, when sold, return half the blocks they take to make. Since most servers have a default block count per recipe of 5k, each ore recipe will return 2.5k ores. Server owners should take note of this.

    Hi,

I thought recipes (when sold) were meant to return half of the recipe\'s cost (e.g. if the \"refine octogen\" recipe costs 10000 credits then you should get 5000 credits back). If this is the case, then there\'s lots of bugs (including things like buying a paint recipe and selling it to convert purple rock into paint without bothering to setup a factory).

If recipes (when sold) are meant to return half the blocks they produce (which has nothing to do with the cost of the recipe); then it\'s a hideous design flaw (and not a bug).

Either way; regardless of whether its technically a bug or techically a design flaw, it\'s still entirely idiotic and broken. Of course currently everything involving shops and/or factories is idiotic and broken, so this shouldn\'t be a surprise.

For \"Server owners should take note of this\"; I agree (sort of).The only sane thing server owners can do is set RECIPE_REFUND_MULT to zero so that players get nothing from selling any recipe.

I\'d also recommend setting RECIPE_BLOCK_COST to one just to make it slightly less ludicrous (imagine if you want to search the web for a cheesecake recipe, and the web browser asked you to jam 5000 cheesecakes into the computer\'s DVD drive before it\'d let you find a recipe). This has the added benefit that players don\'t need to destroy several planets just to afford a recipe for something like \"stone fragment\".

Of course when setup right factories are insanely over-powered and unbalanced (e.g. able to produce large quantities of L5 minerals and everything else from nothing). Some server owners think that making recipe prices insane will help to reduce the number of players using over-powered /unbalanced factories. These server owners are just plain stupid - all it does is make their server less sane, more broken and more frustrating. It doesn\'t make factories any less unbalanced and just forces people to resort to abusing the blueprint system to get materials needed to buy recipes.

They are. It\'s just that most recipes cost 5000 of the block they make. The ore refining recipes are the only ones (AFAIK) that don\'t, and evidently Schema overlooked this in the selling logic. It should be a relatively simple fix.
