Self Contained environments

I was looking a round at the different blocks in the shop and found that there were certain blocks such as gate and factory block that were designed to be stationary. I found myself thinking it would be cool and convenient to have mobile versions of the same blocks so you could rig up manufacturing ship that could salvage their own raw materials or have savage drones do that for them then you could keep things mobile or put down roots. If the gate blocks were made mobile you could use them as an alternate means of transportation to specific places on the surfaces of planets, instead of having to find your base camp every time and on bigger ships they could be used as an alternate way to get around the ship. I may have just stuck my foot in my mouth, but nothing ventured nothing gained. Right?
