A simple idea that would add another aspect to the market area of the game.

I would like to be able to link a blueprint sale block to a dock block, using the C to select, V to join method.

By linking this module to a dock, whichever ship was docked to that module would be calculated and then a blueprint rights would be offered if the player purchased the blueprint.

Pressing R while looking at that block would open a shoplike gui that could offer to either sell the blueprint for the ship hosted, or the ship itself.

A player could store and sell more blueprints for ships by docking them on that dock block, then updating the shop's database.

The blueprint/ship shop could sell a blueprint for any price they wish, though the base price for producing the actual ship from a blueprint would still be the cost of materials.

If the owner wished to sell a ship for more or less than the cost of materials, they would have to dock the actual ship they want to sell and leave it there for someone to physically buy.

Ships docked on this block could only be removed by the person who has ownership of the ship shop, and just like personal shops, ownership could be shared by adding more names.

When a ship is purchased directly from the block, it could either allow the person the rights to undock that one ship once, or just cause the ship to undock after the sale is made, whichever is easier to implement into the code of the game.

Ship shops could be linked to multiple docks, though docks would have to be connected to the same, non-moving, structure like a planet or station.

The cost of a physical ship could be set by the player, but not the cost of producing a ship via blueprint.

If someone sold a blueprint, it would only mean that the player who purchased it would be able to go to a shop and buy the ship from the catalog. The blueprint mechanics could also be configured in the server config to either allow or disallow a secondary owner to share the original blueprint. It could also be set to "self" in the permissions, with no ability to change the permissions.

This would stop players from buying a blueprint from someone and just giving it to all of their friends for free. This could also be configured in the ship shop itself, by selecting the permissions for any blueprints stored in the shop.

There's my idea, hope you like it and thanks for reading.

    Best Regards,

I like some elements of this idea, perhaps now with the new shop module, factions could sell certain ship types for a profit, blocks etc. The blue print could also work like the new factory plans, but show a picture of the completed ship.
