If we are going to make speed limits more realistic, shouldn't we have thrusters that are linear instead of having them lose efficiency for more massive ships? Hardened hull is better for bigger ships since they are slower, and if you add that to the thrusters losing efficiency, it takes forever to accelerate.

This has me thinking.... if this is add to the game, in order to contest with the longer breaking times at higher speeds, what about being able to program the thrusters to have an upper speed limit? that way you could tune you could 'tune' your thrusters to allow a max speed-max breaking power-max maneuverability balance. because increased speed with decreased breaking= less maneuverable.

As for the overdrive, make it double thrust power rather that speed. that way you get an acceleration boost on top of a speed boost, and all at the cost of breaking power.
