I'm new to the forums so please excuse me for posting what's probably been posted many times.
Pretty regularly I experience a bug where I get locked out of the astronaut/ship controls after a random input. I'll be building or flying or dog-fighting and upon one out of a zillion mouse clicks or key-strikes the game will stop receiving input for the astronaut/ship. This seems to happen in one of two ways:
-
1.) Mouse lockout: It's as if I've hit F2 to detach my mouse from ship control. (In and out of F2 does not cure the problem.) Cursor moves but does not control the ship or player character. Cannot fire weapons, affect attitude or mouselook. Movement-based keyboard controls go down too, but inventory dialogues can be opened and closed at the keyboard. Though I can't interact with those menus via the mouse. Escaping to the main menu, at first, does not allow me to even click the exit button and the menu's buttons are dead to mouse control. BUT once I've escaped to the menu, escaped out of it, and then escaped back into it again, the menu buttons become accessible at the mouse and I can close the game. (None of this cures any other affected controls.)
2.) Keyboard lockout: This has a few slightly different symptoms, but it's substantially the same. The main differences I've gleaned are that I can't open inventory menus at the keyboard; I do retain some control over the mouse (not sure the extent -- will update next time it occurs); and curiously: when this bug strikes at the keyboard, I CAN escape to the main menu and have access to those buttons immediately without having to escape in and out out of it once as with the mouse-lockout glitch.
In both instances I haven't found any in-game action that will right the system or unlock the UI and the game must be reloaded.

I'm going to pay attention to these bugs when I get them and as I find more details that might help in patching the bug I'll post them to this thread and edit the top post.
Great game! Hope this helps.
