random damage to ship

So im flying around and i notice that im getting random blocks on my ship damaged. Ive not collided with anything, im not in the suns sector, and i have not gone into a sector with pirates.
I have also not seen any red flashes indicating that i took weapons damage, further, i have heavy shields functioning at max HP, and am still simply having blocks damaged/destroyed at random point along the outside of my ship.

I\'ve been informed that sun damage extends out a few sectors from a star, so travelers beware

Thank you so much, I\'ve been looking everywhere for a solution.

Only problem is that my entire ship disintegrated and now I\'m stranded. Every ship I try to build keeps getting burnt up

Hopefully lol. I just tacked on some engines and power and gunned it away from the sun. Unfortunately, I ran into another sun.... I just can\'t win lol
