raising and lowering buildable lifts

i think it would be cool to have a lift that isnt made out of a block such as the lander a lift that you could make using motors so you can customize it and it will move up and down similar to the forward unto dawn in the mission the arc in halo 3 when it drops the tanks we could make something similar to its lifts and then have people able to stand on it

or similar to the redpower frames in minecraft
