It would be awesome if we could set the maximum turn angle for Turret Rails.
By selecting them with R you can set the maximum angle they are allowed to turn to each side, to stop collision lag when turret parts collide to each other or the ship.
It would also be awesome if the AI on the barrel of the turret could use these values to determine its range of view and targeting.

Edit: Just to be clear I don't want docking collision removed, just this added to stop collision lag.
The goal is to stop turning just before a collision so the rotation is still limited but you won't get collision lag.

Also add an operation in the AI tab to "calibrate aim" that would set the max rotation on the turrets(have each turret do a little boxy animation to calibrate as well!) so it wouldn't take forever to calibrate all those PD turrets on capital ships.

Calibrate is a much better option, and its fun to watch it rotate around while building.
