Power drain beam issues....

I've a small test ship using a twin power drain beam setup which is test firing on a large power generating ship I threw together for that purpose. Everything seems to work perfectly, both beams fire one after another, power is taken from the target, but I run out of power and cant fire!

This should not happen as the beams are supposed to drain more than they require to fire. Anyone know if this is a known bug or is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks!

Slave a Cannon Computer to the Power Drain Computer and add Cannon Modules. The "weapon" has a tick rating that can be a bit fiddly to get right.

It is also one of the most powerful tools in StarMade. Many talk about removing a targets shields first. But without power a target can not even recharge it shields!

I have two ships in the Community Content that use Power Drain the Light Borg the Enhanced Stockholm Class BattleCruiser. Look them over to see how i set it up. On the Stockholm it is the main attack weapon used before anything else.

Aye, Im familiar with the tick rating, what is happening is that even the super simple setup Im using is using more power that it is draining. That should not be possible unless the target ship is out of power (it is nowhere near out of power, heh)

Power drain needs power to function. It was used a lot some time ago and got nerfed. You need to scale it up to get better results. That said i never looked into how much power i gained in return. I was more focused on using it to drop my enemies power supply.

Is your small test ship also equipped with it's own power generation? The power drain beam does require a small (25/module/tick) amount of power to start up before it drains 100/tick and gives you 75/tick back.

I'll check that out...the small ship does have a bit of generation but perhaps it is insufficient. Thanks!
