Maybe planets can be more as just ressource points.
I like the idea that you can build up your planet with buildings, like factorys, orbit defense, planet shield, etc...
The details can be unlimited, maybe you need a lot energie for all that stuff so you have to build suncollectors or so. Maybe you can build your planet to an tradehub where npc comes and travel, and you get some credits for that... or or or.......
Maybe other people have such ideas too to make planets more necessary to survive in the universe
