so this is my attempt (so far) at creating a player generated faction.
suffice to say I'm very pleased with the amount of blood so far.
now for the ships so far (I will post more here as I build more)
CARGO HAULER:
SHUTTLE:
LIGHT FIGHTER:
STRIKE CORVETTE:
FRIGATE:
now for the ships I have planned:
HEAVY FIGHTER
HUNTER (this is going to be fun)
RUNNER
and I am open to suggestions from anyone else who is good at coming up with ships.
oh and faction symbol:
LORE:
the species that call themselves the RedBorn have recently achieved intergalactic travel, thus they are now registered by the intergalactic trade guild as a faction advanced enough to be of some concern. however the RedBorn are as of yet not much of a threat as their preferred method of combat is very close quarters, and as such many sips are fitted with a ram for melee engagements.
originating from outside of charted territory the RedBorn as a species are extremely diverse, ranging in colours from normal skin colouration, all the way to greens and blues. they are primarily humanoid in appearance, but the females have a short tail, or a long tail depending on their race amongst the species. it is rumoured that the RedBorn are actually a collection of differing species, but this has yet to be proven. (possible mission here hint hint)
the ships they use are often bulky, grey, have some armour plating, and are always covered in blood. whose, or what's blood it is, is uncertain. but it has been witnessed that a RedBorn cargo hauler rammed through a civilian colony ship, covering the haulers hull with the blood of the innocent. it is also actions like these that put the RedBorn on the watch list.
despite the more violent ways of combat, this faction is very often peaceful, valuing the safety of its citizens and its allies. and are very welcoming to traders who pass through their space, and more often than not provide a free escort fleet to the trader. the RedBorn are also proficient black market traders selling; space whale oils and bones, stolen ships (mind you with a bit of repair required), and even star systems are for sale.
it is uncertain if the RedBorn have a single government, or work under many different regional governments. however throughout known space and known RedBorn territory they all show the same combat doctrines, the same traditions, the same trends. some more uncertainties of this faction are as follows:
they do not often use jump drive technology, despite being an intergalactic species.
they do not seem to be able to produce their own shielding, instead rely on trade with the other factions to provide the necessary modules.
they stay away from ranged combat, however have some very accurate long range ships at their disposal.
not much thought is put into creature comforts in the smaller ships, however they are known for being extremely protective of their citizens.
every ship is decorated in blood.
they seem to have extremely powerful engines, despite not being as efficient as they are quite capable of making them. this has lead to a few rumours that they are not in fact an intergalactic faction.
The RedBorn are rumoured to be expanding further into known space, the wreckage of many outcast ships split in half shows that the RedBorn are now on the offensive. it is unknown as to what is making them behave like this, but whatever it is, it has put the trade guild on the weary side of the matter, as they are not sure either. scavenger fleets have been seen mixed with several RedBorn strike corvettes, this hints at a possible alliance between the factions, something that will surely put many of the other smaller factions at risk.
ATTENTION TO ALL:
keep an eye out for any RedBorn sightings, and include where. this will help us to keep an eye on them to deliver more accurate news on this faction. stay safe, and keep your distance for the time being.
