For the sake of adding a little bit of variety to appearances, I'd like to suggest adding what I'll refer to as Panel Blocks.
They're basically PlexGlass, except incredibly thin, offering zero armor, and changing the visible color of the blocks directly behind them without changing the shade. They would also not stop Antimatter rounds from impacting the block behind them. Placing a panel on *TWO* faces of a PlexDoor would result in the "Disappearance" of that PlexDoor, whereas a single panel on a block would result in a colored door. If a panel is attached to a PlexDoor, it acts as a PlexDoor down to its activation option. This would open up the option for "Force Field Doors" and whatnot.
Their only purpose is to offer appearance differences to existing blocks while retaining functionality.
They'd exist on 1/16 or less of one side of their block cube, and could be rotated so that they'd fit onto any given square surface.
Alternately, due to their lack of collision mesh, they could be used as decorative curtains.
