Painting ships, like in Hippoplatimus' Paint Mod for Minecraft

Here's vid of the mod (I think it's now defunct): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ_45ftH4e4. Action starts around 0:45 and despite what is shown there, you can paint on all blocks, not just wool.

I think such system would be cool for this game as you could make faction markings on ships. Paint would be buyable at shops.

That\'s pretty cool. I\'d support that. And if not a paint function perhaps a decal function where you can import a small .png and place it on your ship.

that sounds cool my faction\'s icon is a little hard to build out of blocks and wedges.

Actually I\'ve thought about decals, but there\'s suggestion for them already and this one is IMO cooler than decals.

Dunno how would be feasible from coding standpoint - PaintMod uses few hacks that works only on older MC versions (also disabled usage of texture packs - game crashed with anything but default) and that might be part of reason it isn\'t updated anymore.
