So, basically I think the new shield textures are generally eeew, simply because 1. i can barely see anything and 2. it kinda brushes my trypophobia. So is there any way to get the old beetlebear shield textures back?

I think you could access an older build (From september or something) to save the shieldhit texture to another place. Then load the most recent starmade version, put the shield texture in your .starmade folder, in it's respective location. Next, load starmade, shoot something, taadaa.

    Yay! Better shield graphics!

I could just pass you the redone old texture I did... :)

    Installation:
    1.) Save Image as shield_tex.png
    2.) Place in Starmade/data/textures folder
3.) Optional: Place in Starmade/data/image-resource folder
4.) Play the game and enjoy!
Note: Save a copy of that somewhere, for when Starmade updates, it will delete that file and you need to replace it after every Starmade update.
My Shipyard Thread now has this on the first post along with an example of it in action.

Note: you can definitely see where you are hitting with this. ;)
