New to the game

Hey, just got the game and I love it! However I just encountered some space pirates and they totally wipped my butt!! Tried an upgraded ship and only lasted a few seconds longer before being annihilated again! How big does a ship have to be to stand up to a ... brigad?... swarm?... of pirates, anyway?

HI there, welcome to starmade. Ships in this game tend to get really large. You will find that your standards on how big a ship should be change. A big ship for you now might be a small ship later on. Pirates aren\'t that hard to deal with when you havea a powerful enough ship.

I recomend learning everything you can about the advanced build mode. It makes building ships a breeze! Also, try making multiple cannons instead of a single one.
