New Backgrounds/skyboxes

I got bored with the original skybox in star made. It seems to me that even the high res milky way doesn't work very well. So I decided to make my own. I've included 6 skyboxes in the link below. They were inspired by NGC 1999, M27(dumbell nebula), Flame Nebula, Tarantula Nebula, Veil Nebula, and Barnard 68. Installation instructions are also included in the zip file.

If anybody knows a better place to host the download please let me know. As of right now the download is a bit slow.

Hey I am not quite sure how to turn on hi res backgrounds.

To turn on hi res backgrounds, once you start the launcher at the point where you\'d select single player or multiplayer, at the top under settings click \"show advanced settings\". Then in the settings below turn on HiRes Background.

As far as I can tell the game only accepts 512x512 and 2048x2048 textures. I\'ll try to get out a low res verson later today.

I\'m sorry but i have no idea what \"Can you add download speed and size like (124, 1h 30min) behind?\" means.

Have you enabled background-image ingame?

make sure you have the background turned on ingame. also make sure that the .png files are copied to the directory named generic. Only one can be run at a time. I hope this helps. If you have any other problems please let me know.

Yea it is and it doesnt work... What should I do with the milkyway folder?

You should leave it there. The only folder you should need to edit is the /starmade/data/sky/generic folder.

copy the .png files you want into that file. Then turn on hi res background in the advanced settings. It should work.
