Name Change - Personal Server;

Hey there,

I set up a small personal server, that's hosted on the same machine I play on, with Hamachi so that a friend and I could play together. I ended up making my name something retarded just to test the server, but it worked first try and we dove right in... 48 hours of gameplay later, I realized I have the same name. I'd like to change it; however, when I try to do so I am plopped in game as a new character (without all of my ships/resources/etc.).

Is there any way to change one's name while still keeping their profile?

Did you ever find an answer? I\'ve been googling all over but can\'t seem to find a solution. I didn\'t notice a typo in mine until it was too late and it\'s bugging me that I can\'t correct it without losing all my stuff.
