My first ship.

It's actually my second ship but my first was just to get to my friends base. please be kind. It's a simple fast moving salvage ship. I have radar jamming and storage container. I took all the weapons off and added more salvage cannons. let me know what you think.

Looks nice! The general shape reminds me of a bomber of some sort. Also, it took me four ships before I started to build something that actually looked like a ship, so I'd say you're well on your way

I def. find the form first. I won't have any problems with the aesthetics of the ships, just the function. So I will most like sacrifice functionality over a cool line but hopefully I will be able to marry the two.
I will be posting more ships. I hope to make a fleet of ships but I will have to make them look like they are

Yeah, building the exterior first is definitely a good idea if you're worried about its looks. If its built good enough you can still give it excellent functionality though. Just take a look at the ships in my shipyard - They were all built that way, with my team-member building shells and then I fill them.

Another thing you could do is look around at other people's ships and see how they build them. There could be elements you might want to adapt for your own ships.
