more docking turrent problems

i am trying to dock a turrent that is farely large compared to most turrents but is still well within the limits of the green box set for docking. the thing about this situation is, is that it is not giving me a "vehicle is too big error" its just not docking. i tried putting a smaller ship into and it worked. i tried turning the game off and on again still wont work. tried making the turrent a bit smaller wasnt enough apperently. tried making the docking area even larger still doesnt change antyhing. does anybody know of anything else to try.
