Missiles fired do not have velocity relative to the ship.

    So if i'm flying at 50 [units] per second forward and fire missiles, they will move slower than the ship. I believe this should be corrected as it leads to extremely counterintuitive behavior.

    Disagreed.
    If missiles go faster than ships, no ships can dodge them even the small ones, thus leading to a superiority of huge ships with missiles.
    However, there might be some system that prevent a ship from being hit by his own missiles if he goes faster.

    It won't really offer any advantages to anyone because they will fly faster only if the one shooting them is going straight forward towards the enemy. And faster missiles won't be harder to dodge since homing will be less effective at such velocities.
    What it would fix is the ridiculousness of firing a missile and having it fly behind you.

    maybe add like this smaller sihps are just faster due almost no mass and bigger ships are slower
