Just think about it. A gigantic ship floating in space. Then bam runs into a pirate outpost. Wakes up. Lifts its arms. Cannons flip out and just completely obliterate the station. Think about it to do that you could do it like voltron each ship a seperate ligiment, but we won't be able to have a full range of motion. nor with turrets. so could you please mess with this.
