When selecting large quantities of modules for a computer, fps drops tremendously depending on the number of modules selected.

Possibly give an option to remove the graphic in options, or implement a less taxing graphic.

Simply removing the animation and leaving the purple outline the way it is would work. The animation helps to see if a couple blocks are not selected in a bunch of selected blocks. So a thicker outline toward the center of the block would be helpfull if the animaion is disabled.
    (all configurable of coarse).

I don't see a huge need for this but better fps is better fps so I am certainly not against it.

Just replace the weird pulsing box things with a semitransparent shading effect (either solid or a grid) on top of the blocks, honestly; it'd be better and probably less taxing on performance.

I've often found checking clustered modules difficult to manage and end up deselecting selecting the whole cluster to speed up fixing connection issues.

I wish there was a better way of diagnosing this sort of thing.
