Earth………..Is Dying!
Survival of mankind depends on finding a new home and more resource. The Governments of Earth believe they should resettle, though each nation wants control. But cooperation’s do not want to share these resources or planets. They would like to lock mankind into an eternal slavery. Then there are freedom forces with little resources and even less numbers, all they want is a fresh start to break the chains that have been around their necks.
You are one of these groups in a race to KOI 1686.01 considered to be a super earth and the best chance for man’s survival. Until recently this kind of trip would not be possible, with the perfection of cryogenics, renewable energy supplies and improved AI systems. All seems possible.
You awake; you make your way to the cockpit. Check the scans you realize that you are not at your destination. You check your location the year and the status of the ship. The year is right for arrival but you are nowhere near your destination, you have only made it a 1/3 of the way. You are trying to figure out what went wrong and you hear voices over the LRBS. You are too far from earth to pick anything, you don’t understand what they are saying it could be scrambled or another language. You wonder how long you been here and if they have notices. How much of a head start do they have. You decide to bring the rest out of cryo, though that doesn’t look good either. You know you have to build here at least get situated somewhat to make the rest of the trip; find out who is out there but first some defences. You have blueprints just need some resources.
