Bug Ice not behaving correctly?

For some reason ice is reacting unusual on a particular ship.

This is without any lighting in there. With lighting it's opaque white. There seems to be no transparency really happening on THIS side of the ice. The other side is like glass. Any ideas?

Reminds me of when Debris first tried to use the ice trick, it just went pure white instead of doing colours. Is the sun somehow involved? Try outcroppings to cover and add some shadows or something? Bloom?

Obi decided on using a different method however I'll definitely be looking at this issue once I work on the CNY version of this ship.
