We all know that n movies and tv shows like stargate, star wars and star trek there are hyperdrives or other devices to send you to a place faster. In starmade there should be hyperdrives because then you could type in cordinates and go their. Of course it applys how far away it is so the farther away maybe it takes a few minutes longer. Say you have a starwars roleplay and you want to have the battle of endor you would want a whole bunch of x wings, b wings, moncalamarian battle cruisers and medical frigates. it would be more in the star wars spirit so now they could have a side retreat into hyperspace too.

Also Npc's would be cool. Like there could be intergalactic bounty hunters who pirates or the traders guild send after you if attack them too often. Pirate npc's that would randomly spawn on planets would be cool because then you could have the thrill of ground combat in single player. Pirate bases that are on planets would be awsome because you asemble a team or something and have a huge fleet come and attack it with pirate npc's, pirate ships and pirate turrets. Another type on npc could be a mercenarie that you can hire at shops where they are ground units so you could have a gunship and drop troops of at a pirate base and let them take it out.

Another idea which also has probally been used to is that when you crash on to a planet too hard your ship blows into pieces that scatter around the planet and you have to put it back together

Do you people even attempt to look up your suggestions before asking? Like, ever?

It really frustrates some experienced players when we see topics like this that were clearly made without their poster reading the rules or stickied threads. Look before you cross the street, you know? Being a noob won\'t save \'ya then from getting hit by a car.

Anyways, this topic has already been discussed for more than a year; yes, FTL will eventually happen, but in a manner similar to that of the /change_sector command. Considering this subject has already been endlessly beaten to death as a proverbial dead horse, your ideas are 99% likely to not bring anything new to the discussion. Sorry dude, but that\'s how it is.

That is the reason why these guys here want you to search before posting. Reinforcing ideas is usually done by further developing existing topics, not creating new ones that hide the actually good suggestions.

The forums are rubbish, hopefully we can make it more clear and functional in the future (although it is pretty clear at the moment).
