Bug HUD is black

I am having an issue with the HUD when flying where I am seeing two black triangles over my screen. This only seems to be a HUD issue.

This is with a fresh install of the game (since I just got it), up to date drivers for my GTX 980, and Java just got a fresh install. I have moved settings around a lot, so I think I've tried all of the combinations.

I haven't seen anyone else with this issue. Anyone?

Looks to me like it is blocks you have in front of your camera. Trying flying in just a core, they shouldnt be there anymore.

You seem to be right. I went to the next phase of the tutorial and just jumped into the core I placed down. No triangles. I'm glad I've been troubleshooting this for over an hour of game time...
