How to change gravity alignment while in build mode?

Is it possible to temporarily change alignment (which way is "down") when in build mode? I'm working on a ship that does some really weird things with gravity generators on the interior, and a significant portion of the ship has a gravity field that is 90° off from the rest of the ship. Navigating and building in build mode is pretty confusing when my "down" doesn't match that part of the ship's designed "down".

Like jstenholt said, no. But I really wish it could be done. Maybe have a camera changing option that allowed snapping to any of the 6 sides as down? Would be helpful sometimes.
