This is one of those, "I literally could not bring myself to start over" type things. Been working on my homebase/carrier for the last 2 weeks straight. Is there anyway to recover my world?
HELP! I updated to the latest version, and now my world is gone!

The game creates backups when you update, so you can probably recover it, however i\'ve never used them so I have no idea how to go about it. You\'ll have to wait for a more knowledgeable player to comment.

Where are you running the game from?
The game should have updated the StarMade subfolder in whatever folder you put the starmade-starter file.
If you moved the location of the starter, or renamed the StarMade folder then it will createa new universe, otherwise it will keep the existing one.
