This would be simmilar the the Gravity Block already in-game, except that is creates a field aroudn the ship/station similar to how the shields work and stays active until turned off. When a player enters the ship/station and thus entering the field they automatically enter the ship's gravity field just as if they had activated a regular gravity block. When the exit the ship or move 1 block away from the outer hull of the ship, the automatically exith the ship's gravity field just as if they had deactivated a regular gravity block.

This would be especially usefull for getting into/outof ships that are at odd angles. You enter the ship's airlock and boom, your in the ships gravity field and can move about easilly without having to go looking for a gravity block.

i can see a problem with this, if you have a entrance hatch on the underside of you ship, when you go up to pass through the door you would enter the grav feild, this would make you drop down and you would fall out of the gravity field, a similar effect can be found by docking a ship on the edge of a planet

Naturally that would be something to take into consideration. One possible sollution might be to have a sub-block which could be placed to define a variable gravity area within the ship. Gravity within that defined area can be turned on/off from that bock or from the Gravity Field Block. The area could be set from an interface in the block infront of the block\'s front facing. Like other such blocks, it can be rotated before placing so its front facing is pointing toward the area you want to have as a variable gravity zone.
