    Hello,

    My game will freeze every couple seconds when I am playing. It does not matter what computer I am playing on.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Is it a simple Java problem?

    Single player? multyplayer?

    Single: What are your game memory settings? (1st loader, little gear icon) more might fix it.

    Multy: Same memory question. Might be that server having the memory issue, or your router having IPv6 DNS issues

    This happens on multiplayer.

    I set my memory to 20000. Is this too high?

    What would the issues be with my router?

    Thanks for the quick reply! :)

    Ctrl+shift+esc (taskmanager)
    ->performace tab
    ->Physical memory (MB) -->"Available"
    ->set no higher than that number

    Some linksys routers have DNS problems with windows 8 and 10. google your router for "lag spikes every couple seconds" and look around on it's forums. Last saw this issue with linksys (WRA?) and d-link models from the early 2000's.

    Yes. I am looking into the router, but the memory change helped a lot!

    Thanks again.
    [DOUBLEPOST=1465098519,1465094926][/DOUBLEPOST]I set the memory to be the available physical memory but I am still getting the memory limit warnings.

    I have 64-bit computer with 32-bit Java. I am reinstalling Java to get the 64-bit version.

    What are hard numbers?
    [DOUBLEPOST=1465155303,1465154958][/DOUBLEPOST]64-bit Java seems to fix the constant freezes on my laptop, but I still don't know how to fix my desktop computer memory limit warnings.

    64 bit java on your desktop too? Make sure. Same memory settings issue likely if it doesn't have 64 bit java(and/or wasn't set to a high enough max). with 8 gig for the system to play with you PROBABLY can assign up to 6144mb to starmade without any issues, but double check the "available" amount right after start-up to make sure it isn't in use already.

    I'm no expert on i5 architecture, and this wouldn't throw a "low memory" warning, but definately get rivatuner (or HWMblackbox, or HWmonitor, or...) and make sure your temperatures arn't going high.
    Also, look at cleaning out the dust from the PC if you havn't done it in the past year(half that if you smoke or have pets, half again -3 months- if both.) This is like checking/changing your oil/trannyfluid on a car, super important basic maintenance that can FUBAR you if not completed.
