I see there are lots of cool suggestions for core features. Even in its infancy, people are making more ships with bigger and more creative functionalities. People want more specialised ships and our Glorious Leader soldiers on with the requests, while still fixing bugs. However, I'd like to add a few late-game suggestions, and see how you all react to them.
I'd like to see some more decorative blocks. For those who have a very large ships (like me) or those who prefer to live on a space station/planet, the most decoration they can have is multi-coloured blocks or plant life, maybe some artistic sculpture or onboard lake. What could go wrong with a little furniture? Here are some examples, please feel free to add your own.
Home Furniture: Pole blocks and halfslabs for tables, useable chairs, more colours of plexlight (purple, orange, pink etc) stairs, more colours and shapes for 'hanging yellow light', bed or cryogenic thigy and somethig similar to Minecraft's plant pot block.
Functional Blocks: More 'obvious' water, the current block is nearly transparent, flowing water and lava (apparently this would mean rewriting the engine code) and a gravity area block that would allow the aforemented flowing to work on ships 'n' stations. This could work by having 4 blocks placed, and the area inside the blocks be the gravity area, whatever or whoever goes into that area is affected by gravity.
Basic Blocks: Smooth stone blocks. We already have stone, but it is too patterned (in my opinion) to be used as a decorative item. Some sort of smooth hulling, for living area walls. Wood planks, for decorative floors.
Like I said, I'm thinking late game and I just wanted to see what you think about these ideas or to add your own in there. Whaddya think?
* edit: I also want to big up the holographic block idea and the signs idea too.
