Intel and this game are like chalk and cheese, Intel graphics suck...eggs...and Java likes to have a hissy fit like a petulant child whenever it detects it. I wish I could help, the only 'help' I can offer to you is...well...get a gpu...

...You're really not having fun with your Macbook are you :/

it is really great for work and much easier to use that a windows or linux and looks much better, but the one thing it was't designed for was to play games, but all starmade needs is LOTS of optimisation on the mac front and then we will be fine!

It's not just intel graphics on OSX that can't use frame buffers. I have an nvidia card mine and they don't work.

Schema is aware of the problem.

Sorry mate, looks like you're gonna have to go with what Ace said and get a midrange Windows.

Also, you 'won't be allowed?' WTF? Who's controlling your life?

@kupu Can I just ask what card it is? Only problem I've had with Nvidia is a few black screen issues with resolution.

@ToyotaSupra NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB. It's so old, it could just be a case of driver support or incompatible OS specific code, i don't know.

@kupu that's old school 90's style I know it was made in 2008 but damn you deserve better. Keep the Mac for 'colouring in' this game and a light Dowze for gaming, you'll do better. I don't know if you do game that much, but whatever. If SM becomes big (or rather 'when') you'll obviously want better.

I figure it might just be compatibility or drivers, this game is more CPU heavy than graphics. Update the lot, give it a kick say a few Hail Marie's and see what happens.

To everyone else: With games you never pick a laptop, you can never upgrade the GPU without tears pain and a damn ton of dosh and cleaning it out also requires monthly sacrifices to Lord Satan.
