Factory on ship greater than 250K blocks

I am trying to build a ship ("The Wander") that is essentially a moving base. The only issues is that the factory cannot be placed on a ship thus making it so I have to dock at a base or land on a planet. I understand that a factory on a normal ship makes the game too easy but that why I'm suggesting a mass requirement.

There was plans to add hyperdrive which would allow ships to travel far distance, use station only items but rendered thrusters useless.
I don't know if it's still planned.

I think there is a planned capital ship system that allows station blocks on ships with some drawbacks. I don't know how far away that is though, and I've heard very little of it.

Putting factories on ship has been dicussed for a while by the devs, but it isn't on the roadmap yet.
