I have two questions.... One, is there something like a faction template anyone has made? Almost like the fleet submissions except with a station as well? Two, if not how do you make a good faction station with factories, shipyards, looks.

I actually have city templates for civilian buildings on a planet as well as proprietary build components that are unique to my faction's stations and mobile command bases. These allow me to assemble the basic structure for a Star Axis station in a matter of hours and ensure that most of my faction's bases share the same aesthetic style.

Here are some of the "rules" I try to follow while making a station.
    1) Abuse the living hell out of build symmetry: Unless you specifically want an asymmetrical/non-symmetrical build, using symmetry planes can increase your build speed by 400 or even 800%

Notice the symmetry on both bases. The one on right has an XY and YZ symmetry plane build style while the one on the left was built with all 3 symmetry planes. BASES.jpg

    2) Build power. ...Unlimited power. Do the Emperor Palpatine thing and push for the 2 million power regen soft cap. This will ensure that you have enough power to run factories, shipyards and defense turrets continuously. Use any combination of long lines, angles, diagonal lines and arcs to build the most efficient power grid. Refer to this page for more details on power generation. Make sure to add power capacitors as well. Your reactors will need a place to store all that power so that your factories can use it. If you're expecting a fight and your base is an outpost separate from your home base, you might want to "brute force" your way beyond the 2 million power soft cap so you can power additional shields and weapons.

    3) Keep it simple. If you're playing multi-player and you're making your first home base station, it helps to have a blueprint that you can fill and spawn quickly. Keep the expensive or hard to find/craft blocks out of your blueprint. When in doubt, stick to basic hull, power reactors, power capacitors, lights and the "essentials" (factories, undeathinator, etc).
This station is designed to be easy to spawn early in the game. It is made of little more than hull blocks, power, lights, crystals and rocks/grass from planets and asteroids. I added some more complex blocks like docking rails, some logic, medical supplies for my hospital and a small amount of standard armor but I can buy all these things from one trip to a shop. 4) For home bases, you can skip the shields (for now). Your home base is already invincible so shields aren't a big priority when you're first starting up. If you make your station big enough, you can always add shields later but they won't be needed unless you drop the home base protection to move to another location.

That's all I've got for now. I hope this helps/inspires you. Now get out there and make us proud!

Templates, as in the objects you can repeatedly place? Or as in a particular build style? Every faction has a particular build style...
